One of the world's best-known conspiracy theories - that the Apollo 11 Moon landing was staged - remains very popular in Russia, (y'all can't fifty-fifty imagine how much). Some Russians are fifty-fifty donating money in the hopes of 'proving' this theory.

The author claims that money allocated for the lunar program was allegedly stolen, while the lunar landing scenes were shot by Stanley Kubrick, the manager behind the cult film, 2001: A Space Odyssey. Moreover, according to Mukhin, Soviet communists and some Soviet scientists were office of the conspiracy, for the sake of certain profits, of course.
But the 'the great American lie' would hardly have gained so much currency in Russia had it non plant support amidst more reputable individuals and the media.

Journalist Alexander Gordon made two documentaries about the 'lunar conspiracy'. In 2007, the scientific periodicalTopical Problems of Modernistic Sciencepublished an commodity 'proving' that at the speed it was flying the U.South. rocket could not have reached the Moon. Interestingly, the want to institute the 'truth' goes far beyond ordinary curiosity: some Russians are even prepared to donate their own money for the cause.
In 2015, a collection was started on the crowdfunding platform, Boomstarter, to build a micro-satellite with a camera to verify the Apollo xi landing site. It was launched by a blogger fascinated past infinite. The target was 800,000 rubles ($12,000), merely the actual sum raised was more than twice greater.
